In the design stage of the plant, it should be considered that a separate foundation is usually used and the design is based on eccentric compression. For portal frame structure without crane, the connection between column foundation and foundation usually adopts hinge design. The top surface of the foundation only bears the vertical pressure produced by the superstructure and the horizontal force produced by the wind load. The longitudinal horizontal load of the powerhouse is transferred to the top of the foundation through the supports between the columns. In the transverse direction, due to the light weight of steel structure, long natural vibration period and relatively small horizontal seismic action, the horizontal load which plays a controlling role is usually the formula of crane horizontal braking load and wind, and the axial force of two rods can be unequal.

In the case of large eccentricity of steel structure workshop foundation slab, buried depth of bearing layer and large tonnage of workshop crane, the foundation is piled up in large area for a long time, and the foundation drawing is medium and high pressure shrinkage soil. The additional influence of pile foundation load on the foundation must be considered, and the pile foundation is suitable. The type of pile foundation can be determined comprehensively according to the foundation soil conditions and local construction conditions.
